Sadly, there are inconsiderate people around. The solution is simple, as Easyjet seem to have realised. Non reclining seats.

Is this on all flights?

You are absolutely right Karen. Did I read somewhere that one airline had "locked" seats into the upright position?

No problem with paying in advance for something you want. But why should you have to pay extra at check in for non premium seats which are clearly available and unreserved? If these were the only two seats left, and they were together, would one have to pay for this?

The problem is that some costs are being "hidden" . The hold baggage weight has now been set at 15kg. It was 20 kg. All of these increase the "headline" cost shown for the package. Transfer costs can also be an extra. These are not always included. Sharp practice? You certainly need to read the small print.

We never pay to reserve seats. It's only a short flight, and we have always been seated together, either in a row, or adjacent aisle seats. This time, however, we were advised at check in that there were adjacent seats available, but if we wanted them we would have to pay £10 each. We refused, and were allocated two aisle seats, displaced by one row. A party of four young ladies had also been separated. Three in a row, the fourth being displaced by one row in the opposite aisle, next to me. My wife swapped with the young lady, and we all sat with our travelling partners. We checked with the cabin crew before changing. Were parties deliberately separated? Return flight was no problem. We were allocated adjacent seats. I wonder if anyone paid for the adjacent seats on the outbound flight?

But may be higher than we expected when we booked. Might need a little more cash this year.

Increasing taxes will not increase the number of visitors? I do not know when or even if the increase will happen, but Greece certainly has a monumental cash flow problem. This is the problem, and sending different people to meetings will not change this fundamental issue.

The Times this morning reports potential tax increases on tourism in Greece. Not good news for anyone. Price increases will just drive people away?

I think WINKIE is referring to holiday travel insurance? Many of these policies exclude "activities" such as quad bike hire and beach para gliding etc. If you injure yourself, you may be on your own!

I suspect that the"elephant " is about to appear in the room. Today the Greek government are struggling to pay pensions. This, I believe,is just the start of a whole series of issues, some of which are going to impact on all of us who are expecting to holiday in Greece. It seems that something must "give" in the next few days.

Jumbo has mentioned the Eurozone crisis, and it seems that something will have to happen in the next few days. What is the general feeling regarding this in the village?
