San Stefanos news and views / Re: Meal Prices
« on: September 13, 2015, 12:52:34 AM »
This reply may be a little late, but we were in San Stef two weeks ago and found the prices for meals, were pretty much the same as last year. A starter, main sometimes dessert and wine was working out to about 30€. Great value I think.

Thanks for the warning Dupnica. It will make us a little more wary of where to put our bags. We try to keep our bags under the seat in front, so it's near us all the time.

That's one of the good things about staying at the Barras you don't have far to carry your shopping. Thanks for the help and ideas. Can't wait, a week next Monday and we'll be there.

That's a great idea. I know you can have your shopping delivered but not before you arrived.

This will be our third time in san stefanos but it will be our first independent holiday. We have booked to stay at the Olga, after staying at the Barras the last two years, with Thomson. Is there any advice, on anything, anyone could give.

Where to stay / Re: Barras
« on: June 13, 2015, 11:58:07 PM »
We stayed in room 117, last year, which is at the far end of the pool, away from the road, it has lovely views of the fields and hills at the back of the apts, and I would imagine it's quieter than the ones nearer to the road. It's a lot bigger than the room we stayed in the year before which was 120, which overlooked the stream. You could e mail them to ask for a specific room. The e mail I used last year was barras@otenet.gr

Where to eat out in San Stefanos? / Re: Summer Dreams.
« on: August 03, 2014, 01:15:58 AM »
Has anyone tried Summer Dreams this year?
As previous posts have said it hardly gets a mention.
We were recommended it at the end of our holiday, last year, by a couple who had been going to San Stef for years. They said it was the first time they had ever been in and it was really good.

Information and help please / Re: 'Free' sun beds impending debacle?
« on: July 27, 2014, 12:41:48 AM »
As I said, after using the sunbeds you feel obliged to have something to eat in one of the bars. I'm sure if the bar owners were not making any money from the people using the beds, then they would start charging.
Also, I fully appreciate all the work everyone does, to make every ones holiday special & memorable.
I was asking the question because we were surprised they were free because every resort we've been to, the price to rent a sunbed has been ridiculous.

Good to hear the sunbeds are free. We were really surprised, last year, when we asked how much the beds were and was told they were free. I think it's a good idea, because you then feel obliged to have something to eat or drink in one of the bars, not that you have to of course.
