100€ at 13% vat = 113€

100€ at 23% vat = 123€

An effected rise of 8.85%

Has anyone still in the resort noticed any price rises, I see that some trips have risen in price.

Beer and meals ? 13% to 23% equates to 9% rise, surely it will rise to nearest 50cents - rounded up obviously.

So 9€ set meal becomes €10, and a 3€ Mythos becomes 3.5€ ?

All foreighn credit card holders, are allowed to withdraw the maximum limit set by their banks and you can also use your credit card to pay for any service!

Yes until the ATM's run out of money. And I'm sure the locals would prefer cash than a card payment at this time.

I'm taking cash, as a last resort I may (towards) the end of the holiday pay a tab or 2 with my debit card but i will not be relying on the ATM's.

Good News lesley, thank you. So back to 2 in the village now, however I'll bring Euros in cash and only use as a top up if required. Too many stories about the ATM maybe being an issue this summer.

A great review, and it was a real pleasure to meet Silverstar and her lovely family – Nate is a Superstar!

And thanks to Silverstars recommendation we ate at Beachcomber for the first time this year, a superb meal with great wine and of course the views. The food is about as Greek as my old Aunt Maud but the wine was Greek and very, very good and exceptional values at 18 euros.

Also thanks to Gavlah for his recommendation for Yiannis (Arillas Rd), been walking past it for years – not any more - a must do every holiday from now on.

Strong winds and a fair amount of cloud again this morning in San Stef ,cancelled last nights sun set picnic on the beach due to wind and cloud, looks like tonight may be cancelled again, most unusual weather, t shirts and shawls required around the pool at the mo! Just have to tough it out at the bar!! ;D

I stopped worrying about the weather a long time ago, yes it's nice to have 14 days of 35+ degrees and not a cloud in the sky. But hey oh, never takes the magic away.

The main road is a long walk, and there are still slight hilly bits.
Shortest route - side of Nafsika but it's also the steepest.
Nice scenic route - side of Fantasea but it's a rough road and a little hilly but great views and bonus get to have a Mythos in the chicken shack bar.
The road up to tsaros (side of juice bar) is ok once you get to tsaros, we always stop off there ( we call it base camp) for a Mythos (I know it's not far from the bottom of the hill but it's rude not too!) after that there are trees that you can stand under in shade for a breather.

Whichever way you go you won't be disappointed once you're at the top of the hill.

It's cash for me every time, can't be bothered with pay up front cards or best rate credit cards.

Last week I bought 3,000 euros at Thomas Cook (order on-line first) and paid £2,420 in cash (just in case my bank charged me for buying foreign currency on my debit card) 1.237 ish - best rate in years.

Then I FORGET about the rate, don't start paying for a wonderful meal at Nafsika and beating myself up because I could have saved x pence/cents by paying for it in a different way.

We get free safety deposit boxes at Margaritas so I put 600 euros in my wallet then put 300 euros in 8 envelopes and number them 1 to 8. So when we've spent the first 600 I go to my saftey deposit box and take out envelope number 8 (and so on). This way its easy to keep a check on what you are spending.

if I run out I'll just take some out on my Nationwide debit card, not the cheapest way but I dont think I'll need much more than 3,000 - I hope !!
