Seems to be a lot of chatter on the various wider Corfu forums about Tui.
Basically trying to offer less to operators to take thier guests
Quite a few hotels refusing and not bothering to open as a result
-
Can't really blame them, they give them very little as it is.

Talking of TUI just had our cruise money back. For those of you familiar with the story will know we should have gone on the 13th May for 2 weeks back-to-back cruises around the Greek islands et al to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversay and our 60th birthdays. So disappointing but I'm over it now................ :'(
-
Several people on Facebook has said that Nafsika's not opening, but there's no statement from Spiros as yet.
-
Also hearing of 3 in Sidari.... All Tui

Aaw, that was a shame for you both, as they are special occasions

We had friends coming over in August, booked flight only with TUI and they got emailed over the weekend to be told their booking was cancelled. Flight still on but they want the seats for package holiday guests. Won't get a refund for 10 weeks so can't book alternative flights either so have had to cancel.

Sadly I suspect many companies will look to either gain or get back some of their lost revenue. This won’t just be travel companies. The supermarkets seem to be putting up the cost of most items, perhaps due to supplier increases, who knows. It seemed odd at first when I heard some finance guy suggesting inflation may rise rapidly, I thought the biggest problem would getting people to spend. Perhaps it will be, but not for the reasons I’d expected.

According to BBC news today Greece is accepting flights from the UK from next Wednesday 15th July.
-
Correct, just read it on Greek press.
-
Yes - It's in the Greek papers.
-
There wasnt much point in them saying last week it would be reviewed on 15th July to announce that today.
People waiting to Travel wont know if they are coMing or going !!
-
They had to bring it forwards. Need to give operators time to sort themselves out
-
But have the quarantine restrictions been lifted ?
-
Technicallly there isnt a quarantine
Random people are being tested then sent on their way
-
Lets hope it all settles down and god forbid we dont take COVID with us when theyve had hardly any cases
-
Our holiday on 28th August from Edinburgh was cancelled but we got the same holiday from Glasgow !! so fingers crossed as we were already cancelled from June. 3rd time lucky.🤞🤞
-
… persistent little blighters ;D , let’s hope you get away and all is okay for you.

Tui just cancelled our September flights from Norwich. They have cancelled all flights from several 'regional' airports including Luton and at present only using 3 airports. Refund will be mad automatically within 14 days so will not have to struggle there.
-
They said they may open some regional airports on August 1st - but as they're expecting to operate at between 25% and 50% I doubt if the smaller airports will operate. As we're not going anywhere I haven't really paid much attention to Doncaster/Sheffield, but that has quite a big catchment area.
-
Last I heard this week (on the great BBC of course ;D ) , TUI did intend to open up from Doncaster very soon. I guess it depends what is "soon" , next year!
-
To be fair, you can see it's a logistic nightmare for tour companies. TUI were expanding from two planes permanently at Donny to three this year. That's pretty expensive if there's not enough volume, because, apart from housing the crews, there's engineering support and many other factors. It makes sense to consolidate on the main hubs. For Yorkshire, Jet2 or Ryanair from Leeds will be okay because that's Jet2's main hub anyway. Mind you, Jet2's prices for this year are astronomic by normal standards.

TUI start from Cardiff on August 7th.I had an email from them yesterday.
