Hi everyone - seems like an age since my new husband and I went on our honeymoon last June.

I wanted to go back again this year but we've 'decided' to have a baby instead  :)

It will be our 2nd anniversary 2nd June 2012...and I am desperate to return for a week to 10 days between the 1st and the 10th June.

To make it a possibility though it will HAVE to be as cheap as we can possibly get it (with the building industry as it is Dave's work isn't paying as well as it used to and with a new baby - I'll already feel a bit guilty booking a holiday)

The more I look at everything the more confused and dejected I get....

FLIGHTS - not sure whether it's cheaper to book flights seperately one way, or return via a different airport (I'm closest to Birmingham but would consider journeying to other airports if prices were much cheaper) - or maybe getting someone to book from the other end for me? Is that cheaper?

ACCOMODATION - Here I reach a sticking block - I had a few leaflets from when I visited but have lost them - also I would like to show loyalty to either Nikos at the Thomas Bay (who I know has a few apartments) or Sally and Noula - however I will eventually go for the best priced self catering place I can get. We'd obviously still frequent the bar and the pool at the Thomas Bay anyway  ;D

I'm hoping Dave will have his driving license by next June but as it is - we dont drive and so we will have to be in San Stef - we don't want to be a close drive away. I've never really been one to enjoy spending money on holidays - always had 'more important' things to spend on - but having taken 5 years to get over a pretty horrible depression (less said the better- sorry to kill the mood lol) - and finding such a beautiful place on our honeymoon - I cant helop but believe that returning to San Stef can only make everything daily life brings more worth it - and that we deserve it. :)

Hope you lot have some useful ideas - I've got plenty of time to gather tips and save up a little bit. Baby is due in October and with all the pressures we've had of late - this planning will give me something constructive to plan and look forward to..... Just got to work on the Grandparents to babysit while we go!  :-\

Out and About / Theo BBQ Boat trip - How much and is it worth it?
« on: April 27, 2010, 07:21:26 PM »
??? Ive been sent an email from my Thomson holiday thing and looking at the excursion they're offering "Theo's BBQ/Boat Ride" Im in 2 minds about going for it.
On the one hand it seems like a good day out - entertaining and food and drinks included ..
.. on the other hand I dont want to be sat on a boat crammed with 18 yr old tanned & chisselled girls and boys feeling like the pale flabby tourist!
I am a bit self concious I suppose but still - I cant seem to find any honest reviews about the trip that contain much useful info.

It appears to be rather expensive (£79 for the 2 of us) but inclusive of food and drinks that is good really. Theres also a "sundowner" trip that sounds nice for £48 per person. But I wonder if Sally will have something like that cheaper.

Plus I cant tell what hotels they pick up from - as we dont drive we cant hire a car. Thinking about hiring a boat one of the days though! :)

I want my honeymoon to be a holiday to really remember - so I was wondering if an yone can tell me the best trips to go on - best romantic things to do etc.
I've been told the day trip to paxos diving into the water from the boat in the coves etc is beautiful. What about it? ANy thoughts?
Anyone know the best place to hire a boat from - I think we'd have a fab time pottering about in a little boat - anyone tried it? :)
xXx

Hi there everyone!
My mother-in-law (to be) has kindly offered to babysit for 10 days and let me choose a holiday for myself and my hubby to be which she would help pay for.
I chose the Thomas Bay Hotel in San Stefanos - I can't say why - I just kept returning to it whenever I looked at holidays.
Most reviews seem excellent - I am very down-to-earth and would definately want to go somewhere with a friendly, chatty atmosphere. I always hate sitting across from the same guests for a whole stay and not socialising. It seems rude to me. Thats just me though.:)
We are hoping to make the most of this holiday and I am soooo excited. Ive spoken to Sally who works for a local day trip company and she seems really nice.
I'm wondering if anyone on this site will be there when we are - it would be nice to know someone to speak to in the bar etc :) I am a backing singer by trade and so the karaokes sound like fun if there are enough people up for it! Lol.
