Great of you to post the information TerryandJoy.  My wife and I have been interested to know if there were any changes from last year.  Did the locals say if it was unusually quiet?  Just wondering if its because it is early in the year or if that will be the norm throughout the year.  Thanks again.

Hi all,

Can someone tell me how far and how much in time the following would be if I was walking.  I have been on the local walks info but I am still not sure if the distances are from San Stef or Arillas.  It's probably me!

From San Stef to Afionas (Dionysos taverna) and from San Stef to Ag Georgios.

Thanks.

Hi everyone,

Can someone help me please.  I need the name of the lovely friendly owner and the postal address of "Two Stars".  What happened you see, was when my wife and I were in San Stef last year we got chatty with him and he gave us a bottle of "Two Star" red wine for us to take home.  Now the deal was that we would take a photograph of us both drinking the wine on Christmas Day and send him the photograph.  The first part wasn't a problem (drinking the cheeky red, that is) and indeed we took a lovely festive photo, but the address happened to be on the label of the bottle.  Yes, you're way ahead of me.  The bottle is presently being recycled and no doubt our "bottling" paths will cross again, unfortunately we forgot to write down the address.  Now we are returning to San Stef in June and I could give him the photo then, but a deals a deal.  Any help is much appreciated.

Rod.

Mikee,

Skiathos is one of my favourite places also.  The prices got a little silly what with the Abba mania going on and the locals taking advantage.  They may have shot themselves in the foot though as I'm led to believe that the tourists numbers are dwindling somewhat.  We are by no means "cheap skates" by the way, just dont like being "ripped off".  Which brings me back to San Stef, which I feel is great value and more friendly with it being smaller.  I have not visited Parga, do you recommend it?

Hi Mikee,

Can't believe nobody has mentioned the walks.  If you like walking, take a look at local walks on this very site.  Its very informative.  My wife and I have done most of the short to medium walks and we are by no means "fitness freaks".  We just feel it blows the cobwebs away the next morning and the scenery is fascinating when you look around the resort from a different perspective.

But I must echo the other posts, the food is to die for.

Mikee,

I dont obviously know your personal tastes, but my wife and I love this resort.  We adore Greece and have been to a lot of the islands including the mainland and San Stef is way up there as one of our favourites.  The food choice and quality is second to none.  The resort itself is pretty relaxing and very friendly.  We love long walks and we found the area to be excellent with some stunning views.  To conclude and re-enforce the point, my wife will not stay ANYWHERE for longer than one week or perhaps ten days maximum, it was her idea to book again this year for TWO WEEKS.

I forgot to mention, we had actually paid the outstanding balance literally one week prior to being told they could not honour the holiday.  Bit suspicious dont you think?

Madge, Sooz,

I did not mean to scare monger, honest.  I am quite sure you will have a lovely time.  Its just that we were exactly in your situation last year because we also had read similar reports of people being moved at the last moment and its not a nice feeling.  This just backs up my annoyance at Thomas Cook for letting the same scenario happening yet AGAIN.  We were unlucky this year I'm sure.  Have a fab time.

Hi Tony,

You seem to have a lot of knowledge regarding the resort and various hotels/apartments, I feel a lot happier reading your comments.  Thanks a lot.

Regards,

Rod.

Thanks for the feedfack everyone.  I know we will enjoy our stay, mainly because the resort is great.  Ijust feel awfully let down by both Thomas Cook AND the owners of the Mythos apartments.
