Hi,
I don't suppose anyone knows how much it costs (roughly) to get a taxi to Sidari on an evening? Is it far to go just for an evening out? Is there an easy place to get a taxi from in San Stefanos?
Thanks in advance! :)

Hi Georgie 2002
I am sorry I cant tell you how much it costs but I would image it wasnt cheap as there are
no taxis in San Stef they would have to come from Sidari to collect you and then go back
again hope someone can give you a price
-
You could try the local bus going into Sidari and then just have a taxi back. The taxi rank is next door to the Mimosa Hotel, opposite the Babylon Bar. Costs aprox 15 euros o/w. Sidari to SS.

Oh that's an idea, will have to look into times and stuff when I'm there. I remember where the taxi rank is as stayed too far out of town last time I stayed in Sidari and had to do a taxi back every evening! 15 euros doesn't seem too bad as we'll only do it once. We stayed at the Lagoon so just wanted to pop back to say hello to lovely staff there and maybe play some bingo!
Thanks for info both!
Georgie

Good idea, it's easy to get one back, but going by bus solves any issues.
-
Quite looking forward to getting the local bus actually!

The Bus stops outside Barras and a timetable is posted there,
it was also published here in previous posts.
-
Excellent that's where I'm staying!
-
Barras was nice - slightly dated but good and you only sleep and shower there - - and it had a TV.!!
-
I can't wait to get there!
-
We liked Barras, George and family are great - we would stay there again.

Hi dibully, yes we have stayed in many, many different apartments, in all the corners & up the hills, of the resort, and all the Hotels except the Delfino & Romanza.
Basically, almost all apartments are pretty similar in standard, apart from a few new luxury ones.
As we really only sleep and shower there, we see no point in paying out more than we need to,
so we go looking for the best deal combined with location, these days, and compare it with Thomsons deals.
We know just about all the local people, and no one gets offended if you book elsewhere,
but we do prefer to go independently if possible, as it supports the village more, however - everyone has to watch their budget.
Last year we stayed in the Athina Hotel as we took my son and his family, and Half board was the better option,
(my son cannot budget well on holiday and ran short two years previously in the Theodosia Apts, so he wanted H/B).
On our own, we always try to find a cheap flight first, if Easyjet or any airline has cheap flights, we then find apartments.
However, if Thomsons offer a good deal, we may go for that, but it means looking weekly as their prices yo-yo a lot.
We booked H/B in the Thomas Bay in 2010 cheaper than all their room only apartments, except L/Prince which were really expensive, then.
The way we looked at it was we would have gone room only, but now it was like having free breakfasts, and evening meals, when we wanted to
It wasn't a loss to eat out either, as we would have done anyway - just more to spend in the resort!!
So not much different to many others, except those who only like to stay in a certain place, then the option is to price watch or take a chance.
Any way - we'll be there next week so looking forward to chilling out once more!

Jackie always has a morning shopping in Sidari and she gets the bus there and a taxi back. To be honest she normally finds others waiting for one and shares making it even cheaper.
-
Oh that's a good idea, will have to look out for people going the same way! Gonna get the last bus over at 5.30 if that's still the timetable then a taxi back at the end of the evening.

My son used to go Clubbing there a few years back, and always managed to find a free lift there late at night,
just by asking around, and a taxi back, often shared as well!
