Where to stay / Barras

Not been on here in a while but kept in touch by regularly reading all your posts :) We have FINALLY booked our 2 weeks away in paradise 8) 8)!!! Staying at the lovely Georges "Barras" apartments again. We are now taking the in-laws as we have raved about it sooo much that they have decided on a piece of the action! So the count down is on and the shopping has started  ;D lol! we will be flying out there for 2 weeks from the 2nd July..cant wait!!  8)

Hubby and myself are going  back for the 2nd July for 2 weeks and taking the in-laws! Our first visit last year....so we now got the bug.....cant wait to get back in Athens bar  ;D. We are just hanging on as the Barras prices are stupid with Thompsons at the moment compared to what we paid last year and if we could we would have prefered to book direct, unfortunately Thompsons have the monopoly of the Barras and wont let George do any direct bookings :(. The discounts on the Thompsons website are a rip off and arnt really discounts at all...not that we are skin flints but I know a con when I see one...they differ daily! So we are watching and waiting ....and waiting....and waiting! 8) Fingers crossed X

Glad you had a great time!
I think by the size of the place most of our photos are bound to be very similar lol!
We were there from 5-20th june so you were there the following week....was there any mention of the P20 Don from George or the reps lol????

Hey zoe we did the same thing....plus they never had a menu outside so that made us think they werent geared up to do the meal thing. We thought it was just people having a drink and we were going to do the same but went for the healthier approach opposite, "the juice bar"! In the daytime that is!!! ::)

Oh dear! Ive listened and observed all the posts..........

If someone isnt keen on a place you dont go back.........if you love the place that much, you go back,simple!
We wouldnt be thinking of returning if it was as sleepy as the brochures made out.....it was only on looking on here that we realised that yes its a quieter place then some but not a grave yard! We have had holidays and had great nightlife, had an amazing time and probably gone over the top a bit but felt we needed a holiday to get over it when we got back. Here in San stef we thought , just had enough nightlife to keep us entertained without going mad and yes I certainly felt relaxed when we got home. So in a nutshell..yes it is sleepy from our point of view, but not sleepy that we would be bored out of our skulls! We will be back!!! ;) ;D

Hi Shell,

Yes, no problem.  If you address it to Nikos - (or whoever you want at the Barras), Barras Hotel/Apartments, Agios Stefanos, Avliotes, Corfu, 49081, Greece. That will reach them.
Glad you had a good time - and hope Nikos wasn't too rude!! He can be very funny but very cheeky too. And he's terrible for winding people up! I just tell people to give his ankles a good kick from under the table if he needs it!! ::)
He was really funny...didnt know if he was funnier sober or when hung over lol! Thanks for the address holistica ill get them posted out at the weekend

We had a gorgeous meal in the Mythica and the service was superb! Defo a return visit is in order next time. Towards the end of our hols it was a toss between returning there or back to the Beachcomber...the beachcomber won so next time it may be a couple of visits to Mythica for us!

Well it wasnt intentional on this holiday but we only had a couple of fry-ups and one was at the Barras and the other at the Condor because of the position of the local bakery. I could see it from my bed! And the smell mmmmm! The chocolate croissants ....what can I say :-X Sat on the balcony at the Barras with a nice cuppa and the offending item...still trying to lose the extra bit of tummy what wasnt there before I set eyes on the bakery!
