Information and help please / Re: Age

Interesting stuff on this discussion. Question for the regs: When we visited in 1993 (our one and only visit; back in less than 10 days) we used to frequent a bar up the hill a bit towards the church. I can't remember what it was called and wouldn't know if it's still there now. Anyway, it was quite a lively place with people in age ranges 18 -50s. Is it still there?
Forgot to mention just now and i know this is a longshot 16 years on: There was a young greek guy working there called Leo (reckon he was about 23 at the time), my wife thought he was the dishiest guy in SS; he also used to run the beachsports back in those days, with a DJ from Sunderland. Is Leo still in the village?

Thanks Don and Jules for the suggestions. If i book Beachcomber do i need to do it days before or on the day? We arrive on Monday 15th and our anniversary is on Wednesday 17th. Cheers in advance.

Whilst we're in San Stef, it's our 9th wedding anniversary. Where would the SS regs recommend?
depends
Thanks for that Zimmer; really helpful!
Something a bit more expensive than the average SS restaurant, high quality food, that something extra special.

Yes Sir, we spent an extra £100 in May doing the same as we did in 2008. Bristle Boy hits nail on head, yes every labour 'government' leaves a monumental financial crisis, and the longer these clowns hang on the worse it will get. Shame, we deserve better.
yeah like an Eton Millionaire
No class war in our house. If he can sort the nation's finances out (prob take 2 terms, at least) that'll be just fine.

On topic....if the cash machine isn't working at thomas bay i presume we're stuffed for more euros, unless we leave village. Are there any exchange places in SS? reckon exchange rate will hover around 1.10/£ for a couple of weeks at least.

The B & B rooms are in the back block and are superb all have afridge and kettles. Showers are big with sliding doors but still no hook for the shower head

No hook for the shower head?! Hmmm! Interesting! Still, what's a hook when you're in SS for 2 weeks, after a 16 year absence!!
What's the brekkie like? Typical greek continental style or is there a bigger choice?

We're staying there too and on a B&B basis; arrive on 15th June. Similar Q then - does the room have a fridge?
I believe they have a fridge but no cooking facility. Good choice of accomodation
Thanks Jules. Fridge always handy, even if one is not on a self catering basis. Keeps the water, beer and wine cool!

Paper talk. Prob the Daily Express. They usually have headlines like "Pound soars"....but in reality goes up about 0.5cents against £. In winter "Blizzards for whole of winter". Forget it.
Pound/euro will stay around 1.11 for next month or so. Don't ever believe "i've just read...." No one knows; just like no analyst predicted financial meltdown last year.

A week ago today i wrote this. anyone going in next month should've got euros in last week. C'mon all, i reckon most of you are my age or older! Labour in power normally equals economic crisis at some point! Crisis normally means 'run on the £'!

Forgot to say earlier, but is it normal for rain/thunderstorms now? i thought the weather would've settled by now. Wunderground is saying rain tonight and storms on and off for next few days. Any views?
It's less than 2 weeks until we go and if it's not wall-to-wall sunshine i'll be right in the sh#t!!

3 DAYS TO GO STILL NO TICKETS
Are you sure you haven't received them? We travel with Portland Direct (part of TUI) on Monday 15 June, staying at Teresa.
I received ours last friday; the envelope and contents looked like a piece of direct mail; i almost chucked it in the bin without opening! I'm honestly not joking! You get a personal booklet and the tickets are 'hidden' inside, disguised as a page in the book! Weird!

Suspect prices thru' Portland and Thomson are remaining high because demand is still there. all holiday co.s cut back on capacity this year, so no need for them to offer low prices until absolutely necessary. It's basic economics i'm afraid. We're staying at Teresa for 2 weeks from 15th June until 29th, with Portland, paid £860 for 2 of us, on a B&B basis. Is that reasonable or expensive?
