Hello all

Just returned from a blissful week in San Stefanos and only one mosquito bite ( through my own carelessness.) First night used jungle formula apart from left lower leg on which I applied Avon Skin so Soft (Woodland Fresh). The dry oil spray is absorbed really quickly and I did reapply once round the ankles during our evenings out. Perhaps not a fragrance I would otherwise use but I tend to avoid perfumes there anyway as they seem to attract insects.  Plenty of mozzies about and my husband and one son got a dozen between them - usually they get none at all if I am there. Also noticed quite a lot of people with bites. I know plenty of products have been talked about and that people will quite reasonably stick with what they trust but this little experimental trial on one person may be of some use if anyone`s thinking of this particular spray.

Mosquitoes are a real problem for me too- awful skin reactions. Maybe this has been brought up before but I have used Avon`s Skin So Soft (Woodland Fresh- the green bottle) here in England and I haven`t been bitten by anything. While in SS I`ve always used Jungle Formula Tropical strength with good results but would really like to use something less toxic. Has anyone put their faith in Avon completely? Also heard about transdermal patches that are applied to skin for up to 36 hours each (deet free) containing vitamin B but don`t know anyone who hassed them. All suggestions welcome. While I am around Simon and boys are protected - the mozzies look no further!

Thanks for your welcoming comments. We are staying at the Tereza - our second time there. We were too late booking last year and stayed at the Kapetanios instead which was also lovely. Our boys were with us when we were at the Tereza and were very taken with Leo and Fanis and family-but isn`t everyone who meets them?

Hello all

Have enjoyed this forum for past two years. Will be going to SS for our third time on 3rd July for one week with husband Simon and our two grown up sons. There`s nothing to beat reading all your comments to get in the holiday mood. Such a lot of great info, not to mention good natured banter. We have been well and truly bitten by the `bug`. I looked at the Portland website this morning and before I could stop myself we were booked for two weeks next year!
