Out and About / Re: Wine Festival in Arillas
« on: August 27, 2009, 10:34:02 PM »
Hi - I have just looked at the Arillas forum and there is a wine festival around the 11th/12th September - does anyone know if anything about this - sounds interesting?  ::)

Yes...firstly...it is..a festival! and ...secondly ..it is about....wine!!!

but, seriously, it's the September equinox when Baccanalian orgies are afoot and centaurs cavort with virgins, and people get hammered -- you'll love it

Where to stay / Re: Olga apartments

This is like Deja Vous!!

Deja Vu, yes NY re-joined Stills...any buff Springfield fans here? 4 way street is a terrefic live album, saw CSNY The Band and JM at Wembley Stadium in Sept 73,think our bus floated home ha ha, woke up with an exploding head...then they split, and we started getting stuff like C&N doing "wind on the water", NY became bigger than any of them , Stills just got big, and Nash discovered how average a songwriter he was...but Deja Vu is a brilliant piece

Definitely worth taking money (euros) for at least a few days so you can estalish where is best to change cheques or sterling.

Hi

Do you think it makes a great deal of difference either way? I'm not sure it does, certainly not enough to make or break a holiday

Out and About / Re: Brouklis

Has anyone had any meals at the Brouklis in Arillas, and if so please give me the full SP.

We had lunch there, absolutely brilliant imho, very Greek, lovely taverna which hasnt "sold out" or rely on gimmicks - ok the location isnt great in that theres no great panoramic view of beaches and sunsets- but it's everything Stein and a taste of Corfu say- highly recommended

Don't worry - the men in white coat's from the cuckoo ward know where to find you!
They're coming to take you away - Ha Ha!!

- now there's a hit record to remember! (and forget)!

Oh gawd yeah....just hope I can reach Nov 2010 without going totally tonto, there again, maybe if I pull Blackadder's stunt of wearing a pair of underpants on my head, sticking a pencil up each nostril and going "Wibble wibble" to everything, maybe I'll get an early release :-\

Information and help please / Greek Fires
« on: August 24, 2009, 03:38:51 PM »
Apologies in advance if this isnt a thread on your favourite topic however, as we all love Greece, it's good news that the wind has dropped and the fire fighters are beating the flames, sometimes living in a [usually ] boring weather system has it's advantages

Not so secret Dr Evil, as you have already told us previously, boring number crunching would be a good clue I believe!!
This explains why you like to be your alter-ego Dr. Evil - because you get bored!! LOL
anyway - - - How can you number crunch with such a bad memory?

I also know what Don does Clare - so be afraid - be very afraid!! LOL

The number crunching usually comes at the end of the clock cleaning after Ive established what degree of poo there is...but, I've said too much, I dont want a knock on the door from Cuckoo Central Security at 3 am thanks :'(

Much prefer a Bentley than a Bently TYPO TONY LOL!!!

I also hate to admit where I work when on holiday..... It ends up as a right party pooper.... That always makes me suspicious because if folk have nothing to hide what is their problem?

Hmmm thats interesting, wonder what it could be? cant say I ever want to talk about my job - I spend 50 weeks a year trying not to! hating every minute - not really allowed to anyway, only in general terms- it's not particularly interesting and I cant wait to retire from the thing- ,so theres not much point, but some people do seem to go a bit "off" when I broadly tell them...

theres a village charity day at Coity Castle but, the roads round here get choca at BH with the visiting wobblies that it aint worth the hassle..even for nude mud wrestling, so I'll just enjoy not being in my cage

couldnt agree more - if people want to commit a slow suicide because, unfortunately, that is what it is, thats their personal decision...I just find the flavour and eating experience spoiled by tobacco smoke,I mean, ha ha, everyone has to eat but no ones obliged to smoke, speaking from experience it is difficult breaking that habit between finishing a meal and lighting up - although, like some others, I usually waited until I left the restaurant area

after my HA - which reaches its 10th anniversary next week - I noticed how much more intense flavours in food were, really far better [of course if your not careful this freeing of the taste buds can lead to other problems  :-[ ] so it seems to make sense to eat in as smell free environment as possible - after all you wouldnt perform other bodily functions in a restaurant  ;) the other point being you need to breathe through your nose while eating and having fumes go up there spoils things a bit.
It's not PC as far as I'm concerned just etuquette...always tickles me the irony of people saying "PC gone mad" about things and then complain about opinions or rudeness, thats life

bye
