It would be nice to see a return of:
> Paradise
> Mythica
> Mama Mia's

...some time soon, but for now I'm persnonally looking forward to:
> Barras
> Beachcomber
> Yannis (opposite Athens, not the other one)

..and as a vote for my good lady (is that in the rules?  ;) and not repeating my choices):
> Town Pizza
> Sunset
> Little Prince

I need a bigger list!!

Where to stay / Re: appartments for 4 adults
« on: January 22, 2013, 09:04:36 PM »
Check out the Perros Hotel as well, they have some nice big rooms and on the flat. It's our favourite and they've also dropped thier prices for this year as well  ;D

We generally try to book direct, but when doing so you do need to keep an eye on flight prices and book when/if they drop to an acceptable level. We usually fly from Bham on a Friday 1st/2nd week in September. Currently Thomas Cook are quoting just under £500 for the two of us flying just after midnight. Thomsons are quoting thevbest part of £1000 for a mid morning flight. Thomsons is actually £900 but this year any baggage is extra, so add another £100 for 2 x 20kg.

We have tried Ejet from Bristol before (excellent flight and service) but as mentioned by others, when factoring in additional transport costs and parking it's worth paying a little extra to fly local.

The deposit is very reasonable at our favourite hotel (Perros), so the risk of leaving the flight booking until later is a small one. This time last year Thomsons were about the same pricecwise and then dropped considerably around Feb/March. They won't sell out at the high prices they're currently quoting, so I'm sure they'll drop again in a few months. Fingers crossed anyway...

Out and About / Re: Arillas Wine Festival
« on: September 25, 2012, 08:29:05 PM »
We echo your sentiments Katie, what a great night it was. Fantastic to see so many locals and tourists all having a fab time. It would have been nice to have a choice of wines, but for unlimited refills for a one off payment of 3 euro's it was a bargin and great fun stumbling around the 'dance floor'  ;)

Hi Cerys,

We cant make this one, back home again now, but I hope you have a great time. I also wanted to say thank you for a trip to Parga, Paxos and Anti Paxos that we booked with you a couple of weeks ago. It was a tiring day, but well worth it and very well organised throughout, even though the feeder coach driver was trying to do a formula 1 impression!!  ;)

I also managed to disprove the water proof message on my Rollux watch following the dip in the sea at Anti Paxos. The final straw came on the return flight to the UK when I tried to put it back by two hours and the whole of the winder mechanism came out and its not worked since. Mind you for 19 Euros I'm surprised it lasted that long  :)

Thanks again, we will return.

Hi Dedra, don't forget to try the Perros if you haven't already. They're closing this week for the season but Nicola will reply to any emails throughout the year. Let me know if you need any contact details and I'll PM them for you.

Thank you all for the comments. First day back to work today and the driving rain for most of the day really made it hard to get back into the mundane routines of working life in the UK.  :'(  Need to start work on the photo albumn next, that'll help to keep the memories fresh  :)

Information and help please / Birmingham Airport delays
« on: September 21, 2012, 05:57:20 PM »
Apparently there has been an incident at Birmingham airport this afternoon and all flights are currently suspended.

We're just sat at the Perros waiting for our taxi transfer back to Corfu airport and I thought we'd check for any delays. At the moment all flights out/in from Brum are delayed and the flight out to Corfu is one of them. Looks like we could be having a late one today/tonight.

Fortunately no one was injured in the incident back in Birmingham, which has to be the only concern at this stage.

Hi Debra, just popped next door and verbally poked them for you. I showed him the details of your PM and he did say that he'd had your message and had sent a reply earlier today. They have been having Internet problems apparently. Hope you got the message back OK?

We're just waiting for our taxi transfer back to the airport, just having one last Mythos, although it looks like Birmingham airport are having a few problems this afternoon following an incident. Looks like all flights out have been suspended since 1pm when an retrieval skidded off the runway. Looks like our flight out to Corfu is going to be delayed.

Debra, would you like me to go and give them a poke? We're sat next door at the moment, I think they may have dozed off being so quiet :)
