Jimbo:
Wish I'd been there tonight. Greece playing attacking football????? Not seen since the Trojan Wars.
The odd thing is - I was far more nervous tonight watching Greece than I was watching England. Defending 1-0 is never easy. Greece were in, and then they were out at 1-1. The minutes were ticking over. I could hardly bear to watch the penalty, but superb take by Samaras. And before that, some terrific shots hitting the crossbar. Wow.
If they play like they did tonight they could make it to the semi-finals.
Yammas yammas yammas Hellas!
Jacksi:
I felt exactly the same Jimbo - but should be used to that watching city every home match !!
hippopots:
Well, watching the football last night was fab. We weren't in the village, but up in Afionas with friends. It was especially fun watching their very enthusiastic 12 yr old son literally jumping for joy when they won!
We got back into San Stef at around 2am, and there were people still in El Greco, and of course Athens Bar...to be fair I'm surprised we didn't hear Jimmy's cheering from Afionas! Plus a few people getting their gyros fix at Lubrano's, Tasty Corner, and Yiannis.
So, today was scorching this morning. This afternoon on the beach there was a slight but very welcome breeze. Good news...the sunbeds are now out by Havana Bar, so lots of lovely comfy sunbeds for everyone!
It was slightly hazy this evening, making for an unusual sunset, not the intense colours we normally get, but beautiful with the haze over the sea.
D@G:
I'm guessing "lubranos" is the place opposite Hippopots, was called "delicious" last year?
LouiseB:
