facilities on the beach
« on: September 02, 2010, 05:14:28 PM »
Did I imagine it or is there a little snack bar on the beach? When we went 2 years ago, we got the only wet week in summer and never went onto the beach, but I thought I could remember seeing a cafe. Does it have a shower and loos and stuff?  ???

hiya,

there was a cantina hut (old caravan ) where they sold ice creams, drinks and snacks but that got damaged and washed away in the storms last winter.  Leo and Nikos from Teresz's had it along with the water sports. think they are doing watersports again but dont think they have replaced the hut.

However, when we there in May, the bars along the front that we used...Havana and Mango let people use their facilites and allow drinks down at the beach too.

there are a couple of showers, one outside havana bar, and sure one near beach road entrance, but whether they work i dont know !!!

Two showers outside Havana. They work! So do the loos inside.

I think it was the Havana I remember seeing-I knew it had something to do with cigars!!! Now if only we can have decent weather, we can actually go to the beach!
Oh one more thing, anyone know the current rate to hire sunbeds and a parasol? (I'm a pasty red-head, the parasol is a must!)

Ours were 7.50 euro for two from the nice lady outside the Athina. We used these sunbeds everytime that we were on the beach, very handy for snacks from Athina and also handy for toilet facilities.

Yes to confirm, €7.50 is for two beds and umbrella.
seems to be same price everywhere, didn't try the Mango beds yet.
Showers work oK, Havana Bar, Waves, by Mistral and in Athina Pool area, (not by gate which is feet only.
Havana has upgraded this year, new tables - new Toilets, new "log-cabin", Kitchen now in the Bar, so no more running up the stairs for Spiros.

Definitely less beach, also less people.
